Nothing will ever be the same again

“If there’s anything that non-conformist hates worse than a conformist, it’s another non-conformist who doesn’t conform to the prevailing standards of non-conformity’’ by Bill Vaughan.

For some reasons, I have always loved that quote. From my purview in life, conformity is the act of matching one’s attitude and personality towards social acceptance and demands. Try to google it, perhaps you will get better theoretical understanding of the word and somehow could relate to your life. It is like, if society demands us to wear certain clothes, certain colours, act and behave a certain way, we follow. We conform to it. We refuse not to follow because we fear the unknown of not conforming to it. After all, it is better to be in trend, than nowhere.

But, look at LADY GAGA and the hurricane that she brought into the entertainment industry. Remarkable! No, no, I am not here to write about becoming LADY GAGA. I am just sharing with you that we shouldn’t live our life the way other people expect us to do. Find our inner strength, and flourish. Be bold, be extravagant, be courageous and never have to prove to anyone that you can do something. You just have yourselves to prove it to.

I don’t have 40 years of experience to be telling or advising people what to do, how to do and what not to do. Along the way of writing this, somehow I am telling and convincing myself the same thing which is; to live the life that I want.

It must be evil to not be satisfied with status quo. There is always something that you want to achieve, something to strive for, and something to change. Oh dear, one must have a lot of guts to follow one’s instinct. I must admit, my instinct never lies even when I ignored it. Sooner or later it proves itself. Let it be in friendship, relationship (love) or career.

So tell me, are you a conformist, or a non-conformist?

  1. Ohh definetely a non-conformist. When my friends seem having their lives journey predicted as the norm in our culture, I always have the thought life can’t be that boring and fore-destined.
Mark Twain says ‘ “Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”

    Such inspiration..
